How a love of good wine, bold art, and the thrill of "I Want That One!" became a room in East Dallas.
After more than 30 years building retail businesses around the world, I finally built the store I'd always dreamed of.
The stores I remembered weren't the ones with the biggest selection or the lowest prices. They were the ones that made me stop, smile, discover something unexpected, and think, "I Want That One." So David and I decided to build exactly that.
Not a wine shop. Not a gift store. Not an art gallery. Not a bar. A place where all of those things come together — somewhere you can discover a remarkable wine from a tiny producer halfway around the world, find artwork that makes you smile every time you walk past it, uncover gifts people actually remember receiving, and share a glass with friends, or people who become friends before the bottle is empty.
Every bottle, every piece of art and every gift has been chosen because it has a story worth telling. In the end, this has never really been about selling things — it's about creating moments of discovery, bringing people together, and building a community where everyone feels welcome.
We don't sell wine. We create reasons to gather. The wine just happens to be exceptional.
From an empty shell on North Haskell to the room you'll walk into today — here's how I Want That One came together.
We're Graham and David — and yes, the pups, Maya and Miguel, are very much part of the experience. We created I Want That One around the things that bring people together: discovering incredible wines from around the world, celebrating artists whose work makes us smile, and a space where strangers become friends over a great glass of wine.
Whether you're here for a quick browse, a bottle with friends, or one of our tasting events, we hope you'll feel less like a customer — and more like a guest in our home.
Globally inspired wines, rotating flights, and intimate guided tastings. Pull up a stool.
Limited-edition art and rotating showcases from artists who move us — and might move you, too.
Distinctive home décor and clever gifts with personality — the stuff you point at and say "I Want That One."
